31 May PARATY – 29 MAY 2019 – MY FATHER

When we stayed longer in one place our father visited, grandpa Cornel as my kids call him.

He visited us in Portugal, in Peru and now in Brazil. He stayed with us for a week and it was just the right time for him to watch lots and lots of his favorite telenovela online.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, but not all of them the same way. He adores Carla and he fulfills her every wish.

He hasn’t a real connection with Aris. He even sent him away a few times because he was speaking too loud and Dad couldn’t hear well the Turkish dialogue. (No, he doesn’t speak Turkish!)

Ana is too little for him and his playing capabilities so she easily goes unnoticed. Other than that, he is a perfect grandpa.

After this week spent with the entire family, we went just the two of us on a tour through Brazil and Paraguay and then we embarked on a 3-week cruise.

It started in Rio, we stopped in Uruguay, Argentine, Falkland Islands, we went around South America through Cape Horn, we visited Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, we saw some glaciers in Patagonia and we got off at Valparaiso. We remained together for a few more days in Santiago and then I went back to Brazil and him in Romania.
It was a fantastic cruise, fun and full of “Romanian” blunders.

I remember fondly when we put our foot for the first time on the ship, the Security Manager welcomed us and my dad was saying out loud that the “plumpy” shares the same name as my sister.

We found out later that she was a Romanian girl from Galati.

Unde-am zabovit mai mut ne-a vizitat tata, tataie Cornel cum ii spun copiii. Ne-a vizitat in Portugalia in Peru si acum In Brazilia.  A stat la noi o saptamana, timp in care s-a pus la punct cu telenovela favorita.

Se bucura de nepoti dar nu de toti la fel. Pe Carla o adora si-i face toate placerile. Cu Aris nu are el prea multa treaba.

Chiar l-a repezit de cateva ori ca vorbeste tare si el nu aude bine la telenovela turceasca.

Nu, nu stie turca!

Ana-i inca mica pentru el si pentru capacitatile lui jucause asa ca trece aproape neobservata.

In rest, este un bunic perfect. 

Dupa saptamana petrecuta la noi am facut doar eu cu el un tur de doua saptamani prin Brazilia si Paraguay dupa care ne-am rasfatat cu o croaziera ca baietii de trei saptamani.

Am plecat din Rio, am trecut prin Uruguay, Argentina, Insulele Falkland, am dat ocolul Americii de Sud prin Capul Horn, am vizitat Ushuaia si Tara de Foc, am vazut cativa ghetari in Patagonia si ne-am debarcat in Valparaisio. Am ramas cateva zile impreuna in Santiago, dupa care eu m-am intors in Bombinhas – Brazilia iar el in Bucuresti. 

A fost o croaziera senzationala, distractiva si plina de gafe stil Romanesc. Imi amintesc cu drag in Rio cand puneam piciorul pe treptele vasului, ne-a intampinat Managerul de la securitate, urandu-ne bun venit la toti.

Era o femeie in floarea varstei mai durdulie un pic.

Tata tipa in gura mare, uite-o si pe grasa asta, o cheama ca pe sora-ta!

Am aflat ulterior, era romanca din Galati.
