05 Jun PARATY – 4 JUNE 2019 – HOLY SPIRIT IS PARTYING

On Friday, May 31, in Paraty started the oldest and biggest religious feast of the year.  Already part of the cultural Brazilian patrimony, the Divine Holy Spirit’s Party dresses the town in a party outfit for 11 days, for prayers, processions, music shows, and food feasts. Yes, it’s a complex event and because of its enormous proportions is involving practically the whole community.
Scholar competitions during the day, religious processions in the evening, music shows at night, all accompanied by a culinary space where you can try the taste of different parts of Brazil. 
In the old square of Paraty the city hall opened a boutique cinema. That means tiny, nice and coquette. It plays movies every weekend and the entrance is free.

We watched movies and danced the Samba all weekend long, but we skipped the religious festivities, may Holy Spirit forgive us!
The parking lot of Pontal in Paraty is the place where every traveler stops, may they be by car, by bike or backpackers. We already formed an international Argentinian – Chilean – Romanian group; it dissolved yesterday nicely with the celebration of Eliel’s birthday.

I will tell you more about these beautiful people with another occasion. 

We drove more than 1000 km of coastline, it is almost a month since we left our beautiful house in Bombinhas, it’s been 2 weeks since we are in Paraty and it’s 250 km to Rio.

SFANTUL DUH PETRECE

Vineri, 31 Mai a inceput in Paraty cea mai mare si mai veche petrecere religioasa a anului.

Intrata deja in patrimoniul cultural Brazilian, Petrecerea Sfantului Duh, imbraca orasul in straie de sarbatoare timp de 11 zile, pentru rugagiuni, procesiuni, spectacole de muzica si targuri culinare. Da, este o chestie mai complexa la care participa efectiv toata comunitatea, de la mic la mare. 

Intreceri scolare ziua, procesiuni religioase seara, spectacole de muzica si varietati toata noaptea precum si un spatiu culinar unde poti testa savoarea bucatariei diferitelor zone ale Braziliei. 

In piata centrului vechi din Paraty, primaria si-a deschis acum un an un cinema butique. Adica este mic, cochet, are spectacole in fiecare week-end si intrarea este gratis. 

Asa ca ne-am delectat tot weekend-ul cu film si Samba. 

Am sarit procesiunile religioase in schimb, sa ne ierte acum Sfantul Duh! 

Parcarea Plajei de Pontal din Paraty este locul unde acosteaza toti calatorii, fie ei cu masina, bicicleta sau pe jos. Ne-am format deja un grup international Argentiniano – Chileano – Romanesc, care s-a spart ieri frumos as putea spune, cu ziua lui Eliel. 

O sa va mai povestesc eu de oamenii astia frumosi cu alta ocazie! 

Am parcurs mai mult de 1000 de kilometri de coasta, am ajuns la aproape o luna de cand am lasat de tot casuta noastra misto din Bombinhas, au trecut 2 saptamani de cand suntem in Paraty si au mai ramas 250 de km pana in Rio.
