11 Jul ARRAIAL DO CABO – 10 JULY 2019 – ADDICTIONS

In Rio de Janeiro we met a Brazilian family that travels in a Volkswagen Combi with their 3-year-old son. We were the first to leave Rio for Saquarema. They arrived a few days later, but we stayed longer in the capital of surfing so the Brazilians moved farther to Arraial do Cabo. 

At their recommendation, we stopped in Amendoeiras Camping (meaning almond’s). The camping offers everything you need and a sauna too, as I told you before and we enjoyed it today. 

Only 200 meters away there is Pontal beach, one of the nicest beaches we have seen so far. 

Today it was windy and a bit cold, we didn‘t go for a swim but we walked with Carla and Aris for hours. Ana made new friends and didn’t come with us. We came back being very hungry and we rushed to cook “Serbian” rice. 

I washed the rice and made the salad. Kids watched Stranger Things. 

I personally hate series. I actually hate anything addicting. 

Addictions are ways to run from yourself or from what is. 

I think of my parents and the time they spend watching soap operas. There were a few times when I called my dad and he asked me sobbing to call him later. I asked him what dad happened because I was curious and didn’t want to wait. 

He told me that the Sultan from his favorite telenovela suffered an accident. I replied “ I got it, I‘ll call later”

If I were to tell you that this was his second time watching the same series, what would you say?

ADICTII

In Rio de Janeiro am cunoscut o familie de brazilieni ce calatoresc permanent intr-un Volkswagen Combi cu un copil mic de vreo 3 ani. Din Rio am plecat primii spre Saquarema. 

Ei ne-au ajuns din urma la cateva zile dupa, dar noi am mai ramas in Capitala Surfing-ului, asa ca brazilienii au plecat mai departe catre Arraial do Cabo. 

La recomandarea lor am tras si noi la Campingul Amendoeiras (migdalilor in romaneste). Campingul are de toate, dupa cum ziceam are si sauna pe care-am savurat-o astazi. 

La numai 200 de metri se afla Plaja do Pontal, una dintre cele mai frumoase plaji pe care le-am vazut pana acum. Astazi a fost vant si un pic rece, n-am facut baie dar ne- am plimbat cu Aris si cu Carla cateva ore bune. 

Ana si-a facut noi prietene si nu ne-a insotit.

Ne-am intors flamanzi si ne-am apucat sa gatim repede un orez Sarbesc. Eu am spalat orezul si am facut salata. Copiii s-au uitat la Stranger Things.

Personal urasc serialele. De fapt urasc tot ce creeaza dependenta. 

Dependentele sunt de fapt modalitati prin care sa fugi de tine sau de ce este.

Ma gandesc la ai mei si la timpul petrecut in fata televizorului la telenovele. De cateva ori s-a intamplat sa-l sun pe tata care printre lacrimi si suspine m-a rugat sa-l sun mai tarziu. 

L-am intrebat ce s-a intamplat ca sunt curios si nu vreau sa astept. Sultanul, personajul principal din telenovela favorita nu stiu ce patise. 

Am raspuns cu un “am inteles, revin mai tarziu!”

Daca va spun ca o vedea in reluare, o sa ma intrebati ce-am inteles, este?
